Vans shoe styles are pretty standardized so choosing the right shoelace length is easy.
Remember to leave the top eyelet empty: A Vans Era shoe for example has 5 pairs of eyelets. It should be laced to the 4th eyelet, leaving the top eyelet empty. If you want to lace all the way to the top eyelet, add another 10cm (4") to your overall length. The chart below should help visualize.
